
Marks & Spencer welcomes a new retail director, Thinus Keeve, who will take up the post from June 6. Keeve is an experienced person who has worked in a number of senior roles at many companies in the UK. Most recently, he was the chief executive officer and managing director of beauty company BWX.Â
He also served almost 13 years in the Australian supermarket chain Coles Group. CEO Steve Machin announced his appointment through a LinkedIn post. Machin said that Keeve would assign the task of supervising all the retailer stores in the U.K. and the Republic of Ireland, as well as managing central store operations.

Keeve’s appointment comes at a tough time for Marks & Spencer, when retailers are facing a major cyberattack. This disturbance is said to continue until July and cost €300 million. Machin added that “like other senior leaders, he will spend his month working, understanding his colleagues, and getting close to customers.
