Birla Corporation Extends Sandip Ghose’s Tenure as MD & CEO of MP Birla Cement

In a decisive move to maintain momentum in its growth journey, the Board of Birla Corporation has officially approved the reappointment of Sandip Ghose as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MP Birla Cement for a further three-year term.

Sandip, who has held the top leadership role since January 2023, has been instrumental in steering the company through a significant transformation phase, particularly by scaling up the Mukutban operations.

His tenure has been marked by bold strategic expansion, brand premiumisation, and seamless business integration. Under his leadership, Birla Corporation and RCCPL merged into a unified powerhouse, enhancing MP Birla Cement’s market standing through innovative sales, marketing, logistics, IT, and corporate strategy initiatives.

An alumnus of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Sandip brings four decades of rich industry experience in FMCG, media, and cement sectors.

His career has included impactful stints at Ernst & Young, ITC, and Unilever, followed by senior leadership roles at Kimberly-Clark Lever, ABP Group, and HT Media. He also held strategic positions at LafargeHolcim and MP Birla Cement, where he was pivotal in leading brand elevation and business consolidation.

Beyond the corporate boardroom, Sandip Ghose has served as Chairman of eXlygenze SenseWorks and contributed as a strategic advisor to the Centre for Public Policy Research.
