Every leader talks about growth, but not many have built something remarkable from scratch. Anissa Sharmanti has spent the last two decades firmly proving how it’s done. She spent most of her career in Microsoft and DHL Express through various sales-driven roles, which led her to receive multiple prestigious awards, such as DHL Express Outstanding Sales Performer of the Year, Microsoft Circle of Excellence APAC Gold Club Winner, and Microsoft APAC Top Talent. The combination of both sales and services roles shaped her into the success of building Crayon Indonesia’s business from the ground up to reaching profitability in the third year. Her career journey has driven her to continually improve her performance, which has led to building Bespin Global Indonesia from scratch into a steady cloud services player. She built the team, set the right mindset, focused on customers’ needs, maintained the service quality, and kept the team open-minded and ready to evolve continuously. As a result, Bespin Global Indonesia has become a business exceeding USD 10M in annual revenue in just 3+ years and has been profitable. Her ambition is to aim for USD 50M in the next 3 years.
In an exclusive conversation with CEO Outlook Global, she shares the turning points that shaped her leadership style, how she’s tackling today’s toughest challenges, and why mentoring the next generation of leaders is central to everything she does.
My journey has always been centred around building, whether it’s growing teams, businesses, or new markets. Starting from my early days in IT, I’ve held diverse, sales-focused roles. The turning point came when I stepped into the role of leading Bespin Global Indonesia. Building the business from scratch was both a challenge and a privilege. What started as an idea, with the right execution, is now a highgrowth, profitable operation, led by a passionate team helping accelerate cloud adoption across industries. With this foundation, my responsibility is now being extended to lead our Vietnam and Singapore businesses, too. Leadership is about unlocking and empowering individuals’ potential, so they can rise and achieve more than they thought possible.
I mentor by action, giving people actual responsibility and opportunities to learn through practical experiences.
My own mentors taught me humility, clarity, and the profound value of deep listening. These lessons have a profound impact on my approach, enabling me to remain present, build trust, and help others unlock their full potential.
Southeast Asia holds tremendous innovation potential. Understanding and respecting each country’s uniqueness while addressing shared regional challenges is vital. Cloud and AI technologies offer diverse and impactful solutions to meet these local needs. My goal is to support more businesses in adopting these technologies fast and securely, which ultimately drives their business growth. Personally, I aim to build a legacy that demonstrates true leadership comes from mindset and capability, rather than gender. I want to inspire more women to embrace tech leadership roles confidently. My approach is defined by positivity, customer-centricity, continuous personal & professional growth, and resilience through challenges. I believe sustainable success is achieved through continuous evolution.
Leading in a fast-moving industry means continuously balancing speed, scale, and sustainability. I’m fortunate to have strong support from our management team at Bespin Global’s headquarters in South Korea. Together, we tackle challenges openly, respectfully, and with solution-oriented communication. I strongly believe every challenge presents an opportunity when executed thoughtfully. Clearly defining the problem, breaking it down into actionable tasks, assigning clear ownership, timelines, and priorities form my guiding principle. Customers remain at the centre of our decisions, ensuring that everything we do creates impactful value.
Our AI-first cloud transformation initiative in Indonesia, powered by Bespin Global’s own IP, HelpNow AI platform, excites me most. HelpNow AI leverages intelligent monitoring, automation, and proactive insights to simplify cloud operations, enhance security, and increase cost efficiency. The project’s significance lies in connecting advanced AI technology directly with local business needs. Many businesses across Indonesia and Southeast Asia face complexities in adopting and managing cloud infrastructure. HelpNow AI reduces these barriers by providing a user-friendly, secure, and regionally adaptable solution. This aligns closely with our vision to empower businesses to innovate faster through globally proven yet locally impactful AI solutions.
