
Nvidia plans to channel up to $100 billion into OpenAI as part of a newly announced strategic partnership aimed at shaping the future of artificial intelligence.
The collaboration seeks to accelerate the development and deployment of OpenAI’s upcoming models, with the first operations expected by late 2026 on Nvidia’s Vera Rubin system.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated, “For more than ten years, Nvidia and OpenAI have driven mutual innovation, from initial supercomputers to ChatGPT.” He added, “This latest investment, fueled by 10 gigawatts of AI capacity, paves the way for the future of smart technology.”
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman emphasised that advanced computing will form the foundation of tomorrow’s economy. Their partnership with Nvidia is crucial, enabling new AI innovations and expanding their influence on businesses.
OpenAI President Greg Brockman noted their enduring partnership with Nvidia, aiming to harness 10 gigawatts of computing power to drive AI innovation and extend its benefits worldwide.
Nvidia will be OpenAI’s main compute and networking partner, working together to optimise hardware and software for improved AI efficiency and scalability. This partnership expands OpenAI’s network, which already includes Microsoft, Oracle, SoftBank, and Stargate, in its efforts to develop advanced AI infrastructure.

OpenAI, serving over 700 million users weekly, announced that its closer collaboration with Nvidia will speed up efforts to develop beneficial artificial general intelligence. The companies are expected to finalise the deal soon.
